I created this image in photoshop after drawing a manga sketch of a girl with a pet dragon.

wow, that looks surreal. A little bit of you in there as well, by the look of your photo. I am happy that it is a sweet dragon LOL
Claire, this is beautiful. Glad to find your blog (and to hear that you aren't breathing bad fumes anymore!)
Keep up the great work. ;-)

Wowww really nice work!!!!!
This is amazing. Congratulations on your DI interview too. Very interesting.
What an interesting image! You've really tapped into the fantasy genre. Do you have the story that you were illustrating to go with the piece? Might be cool to see it along with it's original source of inspiration.
Nice job.
Thank you for the lovely comments!
Andrew, There wasn't really a story to go with this piece. The image evolved as I was working on it. The original sketch was a manga cartoon of a little girl and the dragon was portrayed as her pet. I've always loved drawing dragons and probably when I was a little girl would have dreamed of having one as a pet or a friend. When I was little I used to love watching films like 'Never Ending Story' and reading books such as 'Green Smoke' by Rosemary Manning. In fact, writing this comment has made me realise that my inspiration comes from my childhood entertainment!
Fantastic work...the eyes on the woman and the dragon are outstanding. Excellent job.
Great pic here...this is a hundred steps above what inspired you...superb...
Wow is really beautiful!
I love the girl's hair and the sweet eyes expression.
